Celebrate National Take a Hike Day With Your Pets

November 17th is National Take a Hike Day. As farmers, we believe there's nothing better than outdoor time with your pets. Fresh air and exercise is not only good for your health, but your pets' health as well.

Did you know that all pets can benefit from exercise? How much exercise your pet needs each day can vary based on their energy level, breed, and age. Generally speaking, here are some guidelines for how much exercise your dog should get each day:

  • 0 to 12 month-old puppies need 20 to 60 minutes
  • 1 to 7-year-old dogs need up to 60 minutes
  • 7+-year-old dogs need 30 to 60 minutes

Even cats can benefit from outdoor time. Taking your cat outside has been shown to reduce aggression, reduce emotional stress, and reduce behavioral issues.

Our all-natural, freeze-dried treats make the perfect lightweight treat to take along on a hike. Our freeze-dried pheasant treats are perfect for dogs or cats, are all single-ingredient, and start at just $4.99 per package!
